About Me

I'm a software engineering manager currently based in San Diego. I use this site as a way to share what I'm learning out in the open and write about my own experiences as honestly as I can.

In college, I studied Cognitive Science with a specialization in Human-Computer Interaction at UC San Diego. During my final year, I started programming and co-founded the non-profit Learning Equality, which provides open-source educational software to students without Internet access.

In 2014, I moved to London and worked for Growth Intel as an early engineer on batch processing pipelines and web app development.

After a couple of years, I moved with my girlfriend (now wife 💓) to Houston, where I met the co-founders of Liongard and joined the team as the second employee. I grew with the company from no funding through Series B, from two employees to well over 100, and scaled the product from zero to thousands of customers.

In early 2022, I joined Amazon as a Software Development Manager where I lead a team that protects Amazon and Amazon customers from bad actors attempting to take over customer accounts or create accounts for fraudulent purposes.
